Success Behind Barack Obama – So, you think you had worst?

Did you ever felt like everything is against you? How many times you started a task, then got fed up and stop doing it completely? How many times you give up making effort on new things? Here are two extraordinary people … One from the history, one from present time. Abraham Lincoln and Barack Obama; what are their similarities on the way to achieve something really big?

Abraham Lincoln

• At the age of 21, he was unsuccessful with his business.
• At 22, he lost his first legal battle.
• At 24, he was unsuccessful with his second business.
• At 26, his first love died.
• At 27, he had nervous break down.
• At 34, he lost congress elections.
• At 36, he tried again, but lost the congress elections again.
• At 45, he failed to become state senator.
• At 47, he lost wise presidency elections.
• At 49, he lost elections for the senate again.
• At 52, became the President of United States.

Barack Obama

• At the age of 2, parents separated and father left him.
• At 6, he moved to Indonesia. Totally different culture to what he knew. He took classes in Indonesian language.
• At 10, he left his mother and start living with his grandparents.
• At 18, he faced with racism. Also suffered from drugs.
• At 34, his mother died.
• At 39, unsuccessful Democratic Primary run.
• At 48, became the first black American President.

So against all the odds, Barack and Abraham manage to achieve their life long dreams. Similarities between these two great men are; they never gave up.

Of course these two men have lots of achievements in their life time, but they also came across with great tackles. Instead of giving up, they carried on fighting until they reach their goal.

If you read about any successful person, you will find out that they all had great difficulties in their lives. But they choose to fight and tackle the problems rather than turning their back and feel sorry for themselves. Because of this kind of attitude, they are where they are right now. Always on top.
