How do you keep up with Your Blog?
People are blogging for many reasons. Some, to share funny and interesting stuff, some, to provide informative guides on a certain subject, some, to educate people on certain issues or topics, some, to debate about political or social issues, etc. But, whatever reason you are blogging about; there might be time, where you find it hard to keep up with your blog.
Reasons for falling behind with your blog posts
When people start blogging (for making money), they start with big objectives and also aiming to create 2 or 3 posts a day. They usually keep up with this objective for few days or weeks. Then they hit that brick wall also known as writers block. I know this is term for book writers, but as blogging involves writing, you can also experience the writing block.
Time is also an important factor, when it comes to keep up with your blog. In most cases, people can’t produce posts, because they don’t have enough time to do it. This is mainly because; they set a goal to produce few posts a day. So, as they can’t produce that much, they start thinking, it doesn’t work out as they expected.
Another reason for failing to produce blog posts is maybe, you might be trying too hard to create a unique content. Most people spend hours to create a single post as they want it to be perfect. Of course there is nothing wrong with that. But trying to give that kind of commitment to each blog post can easily bring the level of your devotion down.
Underestimated your niche
When you start a blog, people tend to choose niches that are most popular, or that makes more money. So, instead of spending some time on that niche, they prefer to jump into topic and start blogging. They assume to have enough knowledge to create and keep update. But, what they later realise, that niche requires a lot more knowledge.
Failing to do research about a niche means, you didn’t identify the hurdles and problems ahead. You thought you knew it all. Therefore, you can’t produce posts to meet your objectives.
Recovery process for your blog
Recovery means, you need to sit down and identify the mistakes you made so far. You should start doing research and try learning a lot more about the niche; you are covering in your blog. Find other blogs and read what they are writing about. Try to identify the topics they cover.
You should also think of other possibilities. This can mean change the topic of your blog. Try to explore the sub-categories of your niche. Also, don’t hesitate to link other bloggers. Many bloggers prefer not to link to other blogs, because they think they might lose their visitors. But what they don’t think is, if you lead people to a right direction, they can also see your blog as good informative blog.
