What actions to take, before producing a blog post?
Creating blog posts almost everyday can be very difficult. When you are writing a blog, coming up with content is not easy. You need to post fresh article in your blog regularly. So, I decided to share the actions I take before creating my articles for blog posts.
One of the first tasks I take when writing blog post is research. Without a research there is no way I can produce any posts. Mainly research involves, reading forums and other blogs.
Reading forums help me to come up with an idea on what to write. In forums you can find many types of questions. Answers to those questions can easily be written as blog post.
Reading other blogs also help me in great deal for creating articles for my blog. You can see what others are writing in their blog and also find out what people are commenting about. So, I use other blogs to get an idea. Sometimes I can even write a review about a post and link to that post from my blog.
After my research, I have some kind of idea on what to write on my blog. Also, I mostly create initial title for the blog post after my research. The title is initial because, I can always change it to an appropriate one after I finish my article. I always prefer to have a title before I write my blog posts, because it helps me to come up with questions that I need to answer in that particular blog post.
For instance take this post as an example. The title is “What actions to take before producing a blog post?” I asked my self following questions:
- What do I do before writing a post?
- How do I write it?
- What do I use to get information?
- How do I find information?
These questions help me to identify the keywords for my blog post. Identifying the keywords help me a lot to see what the finished post will be about. It also helps me create the sections for the blog post. Take a book as an example. The section of my blog post is like the content page of a book. I list them in that format. After I identify the sections, I start writing few sentences for each section.
Here is an example for you to understand what I mean. This blog post looked like this before I created the article:
Research
- Reading forums
- Reading other forums
Come up with the Title
- Search Google
- Ask questions
Identify your main keywords
- What topics to cover.
- Each article should cover two or three main keywords.
Identify the sections of the blog post
- This where your post start to take a shape
- List each topic you want to cover
I hope you got the idea. I am sure you have your own methods to create your own blog posts. But, I wanted to share mine. I would also love to hear your thoughts and methods for creating blog post. If you would like to share them, please feel free to write them in comment section.
Good luck with creating more blog posts.
