4 Main Objectives for Every Blogger – How to Achieve Them?
Whether we are blogging, trying to change people’s mind, inform, entertain, explain, convince or educate, we always have four general objectives.
- To be read
- To be understood
- To be accepted
- To take action
Failure occurs, when we fail any one of these. Usually, this can lead to frustration and resentment.
We all want our blogs to be read by people. However, this is not enough to make people comeback to our blog again and again. For instance, you can buy a book and read it. However, just because you read the book, that doesn’t necessarily mean you will go and buy another book from the same author.
The decision relies on how well you understood the author’s message. In other words, did the author accomplish to be understood by his/her readers? If they understood the message delivered, than it is good. This will help the reader to accept or not to accept the information. However, if the message wasn’t clear enough to be understood, than no one will try to crack the code to understand it.
So, you need to be clear, whether you want to be accepted by your readers. If you confuse them, they will not comeback to read your blog. However, if you make them to change their behaviours, then that means you are doing something right.
Reading, understanding and accepting the information plays important role for your readers to take action. That action can be; not to read your blog again or carry on reading your blog whenever you publish a new blog post.
Always keep in mind that, you can be listened but not to be understood. You can be understood, but not to get accepted. You can get accepted, but your acceptance won’t make people to take action.
So, if you want your blog to be read, you need headlines that attract visitors. If you want your blog to be understood, you need be clear and concise. If you want to be accepted, then you need to do first two steps again and again. If you want your readers to take action, you need to convince them by being genuine to them.
