Why should you become a guest blogger on other blogs?

I wanted to write this post ages ago. However, I didn’t know if it would be a good idea to praise before even experience the benefits. So, I waited for my first guest post to appear in one of the top blogs Daily Blog Tips by Daniel Scocco.

Many experts on internet marketing will say that article marketing is great way to bring traffic and sales. I agree with it completely. However, I think, internet marketing is only good for a specific product or services. If you want to promote your blog, I believe strongly that guest posting on other blogs is more effective than article marketing. You can agree with this or not, but there is no harm if you can do both.

Yes, but where can we find bloggers who would let us post on their blog?

Blogging is demanding business that requires constantly new content. Most bloggers would be more than happy, if someone else contributes to the content as well.  At the start I was thinking this way as well. But after approaching to the bloggers, I’ve seen a lot of enthusiasm from them. In fact I found some bloggers just like Daniel Scocco, dedicates certain day of the week for blog post that are created by guest bloggers.

Why should the big blogs let you post?

Three reasons;

First, you will provide them with good content.

Second, the blog post will be promoted by you as well as the blog owner. So, two hands are better than one.

Third, the owner of the big blogs also had been in the same place as you are right now. So, most of them, just like Daniel, are very happy to help.

Why should I publish a good blog post on another blog rather than mine?

If you check the advertisement prices on blogs that are read by many, you will see that the prices start from $100/mounth. By becoming a guest blogger, you are allowed to provide a link to your own blog. So, it is kind of free advertisement. In fact it is much better than an advertisement. Your blog post and your link will be on that blog for the life time of that blog. You will still get credit for that content anyway.

What are the short term and long term benefits of becoming a guest blogger?

If your blog post is published on one of the top blogs like Daniel’s, you will see a good amount of traffic. I also see that subscribers to my blog are doubled, since my blog post appeared on Daily Blogging Tips.

In long term, I expect more subscribers. Also, quality of the back link from daily blogging tips will improve my search engine rankings.

Always keep in mind that goals are achieved much easier, if you teamed up with other people. There are a lot of bloggers out there, who are trying to achieve the same goal as you are. A lot of them would be very happy to publish good blog posts that are written by other bloggers.
