Questions and Answers: Getting Visitors From Twitter
The importance of a community is, to help each other and try to find solutions to the problems we face. So, I decided to dedicate Mondays to questions and answers. I would like to credit Daily Blog Tips as I first saw this idea over there.
All you need to do is to tweet your question to @internethow or ask them by commenting. Then I will choose one question and post it here. You can also participate by answering those questions by commenting.
However, I can only post one question per week, so please keep that in mind. However, I will do my best to reply your tweets.
So let start with the first question that is asked by zeesu:
“How are you able to use twitter to find more readers?”
I personally try to engage with my followers as much as I can. Try to reply them directly (@username) by commenting about their most recent blog post. However, I make sure not to send them any link, as my only purpose to contact them directly is because I have something to say about their blog post, not to advertise mine.
So, what do you do to get visitors from twitter?

it’s good that you don’t link to advertise your product, everybody seems to do it and the net is littered with seo backlinking. I have not leveraged twitter yet for traffic, perhaps I should find a way?

Hello. Thanks for your article, I have added you.
I do have a question for you. I’m a new blogger and I have been blogging for a couple weeks now. I was wondering, what is the best way to encourage comments and more followers to my website?

Hi Adrianne
To encourage comments I do few things:
Ask my readers opinion about the post and if they have more thoughts about the topic, they are welcome to comment.
Of course the Top commentetor competition helped a lot. However, by just adding top comentator widget or recent commentators widget, you should also see some effects.
The content is the most important one. Try to write posts that would encourage commenting. For instance you can aim to the bloggers and share your journey on the way to success.
Finally, keep doing it. It took me around few months to start getting comments rolling. As long as you stick to your plan, comentators, followers, and subscribers will eventually come.
I hope these help.
Good Luck With Your Blog.

Also, allow people to add their URL. On your blog this is not enabled.

The plugins are great as he mentioned, Top Commenter, Do Follow, CommentLuv, etc. Also the part about asking things in question form, I do it both in the title and at the end of each post as often as possible. Commenting on other blogs is a really really good idea.
At the end of the day though, it all comes down to great content that make readers want to comment.
If you get a chance, check out the comment count on my blog; I promise it’s not faked…there’s no way I’d have the time. LOL

Engage, engage, and engage some more. RT, ask questions, provide answers. Trust needs to be established before relationships can be built. Once you have a relationship with someone they will be more willing to read your blog, or see what you have to offer.

I’m a twitter fan. Direct communication among twitterers can build good network. Networking is everything. This is the only way to get readers or in another words to bring traffic to your blog

Cool idea to do a Question and Answer session, Ali! I tried one on my blog and it didn’t work so well, so well done for making it run smoothly! :)
As for your answer, I must agree. Engaging with other Twitterers is the most important thing you can do… after all, it is a social networking site, not an ‘advertising’ site. lol

I love the part about not advertising and wish so many more would take that stance…especially when replying to anothers tweet, that’s just rude unless they asked for it.
