Are Your Remedies Ready for Your Blogging Adventure

So, you finally decided to start a blog. But did you really think what you up against? Blogging might not be what you expected and can give you headaches, if you don’t know how to deal with it.

Can You Handle Constant Research and Improvements?

The main element in blogging is content. Without providing content to your readers, your blog won’t last long. Therefore, you need to look for new ideas for your blog posts. Although you can get inspiration for a blog post almost anywhere, you still need to do some idea hunting. You need to be up to date about the latest news within your niche. As well as content, you need to be aware of new tools and services that would help your blogging. For instance, not being aware of auto scheduling on WordPress and doing your researches without using Google Wonder Wheel.

Do You Have Patience to Wait for Results?

Unfortunately, you need to try your hardest to get some results from your blogging. Even those results may not be what you expected. Although you must have a long term goal, you need to have small objectives in place. So, instead of waiting for one big result, you will have smaller ones to look forward. This way, you will increase your enthusiasm to blog.

Are You Organised?

Obviously you won’t start blogging full time. So, you need to have time management in place. Also, you need to think of the times, when you won’t be able to blog. For instance, last September, I lost almost half of my subscribers, because I was on holiday. I could have prepared some articles before I went away and get them published automatically. So, you need to keep these things in mind. Be prepared and always be one step ahead.

Do You Get Intimidated?

Don’t forget, you are not the only person who is blogging, and you are not the only person, who is trying to do it right. There will be a lot of other blogs, which you will find way ahead. You might start thinking, there is no way you can get that kind of popularity and produce that kind of content. Although you can learn a lot from them, keep the concentration on your blog. Try to learn as much as you can from them. Keep in mind that in time, your blog will be the same.

How would you deal with the problems?

Things will not go the way you wanted, you will not get the results you expected, and you will fail lots of times. So, what are you prepared to do in those kinds of situations? Will you feel sorry for yourself? Or will you try to learn and prevail from your mistakes?

To be honest with you I didn’t ask these questions to myself, when I started my blogging adventure. I learned on the way by abandoning 2 blogs.  But finally, I am aware of what it takes to become a successful blogger. Hopefully, one day I can also share with you, what it takes to make lots money from your blog as well.

All great tips. Be persistent is my mantra. Continue to post consistently; at least every 1-2 days. Contiue to visit other blogs and pick up pointers.

Don’t get frustrated with little readership. It will come as your posts become better and you network.

Surround yourself with positive thinking people people. Immerse yourself in self-help books, listen to CDs. Develop the mindset of a successful person. This will help you to be persistent.

  5. Simon,

You pose some important questions. Blogging is a delicate balance between the feedback of your audience and messages from your intuition. It something feels right, if you know it’s right, go ahead with it. Sometimes your readership will disagree with a change but it could be the most important change you make.

Most people hate change because it moves you out of the comfort zone. But change leads to progress.

Very informative blog. You’re now in my RSS :)

  7. Do You Have Patience to Wait for Results?

Could that be the #1 question that new bloggers DON’T ask themselves? I say yes.

They read about the top 1% making 10K per minute and think they can do it too…in 2-3 months no doubt.

It’s also why so many say things like article marketing doesn’t work – they publish 2-3 articles and wait 2-3 weeks and wonder why they haven’t made 50 sales.

    The list goes on…
